Celebrating 65 Years of Stellar Service
This year marks the 65th anniversary of service rendered to Brooklyn and surrounding communities by the members of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Delta Rho Omega Chapter. Service is the heartbeat of our existence. Over the years we’ve rendered service to those from as young as the 3rd grade through tutoring programs to our most experienced citizens though organizations such as the Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation. We served those in perfect health and those who need a bit more assistance that others through facilities such as Queen’s Psychiatric Hospital. Our programs, while primarily centered in the Brooklyn community, have had extended reach to such locations as the Bedford Hills Correctional Facility and as far as Africa through our Shoebox Project and more recently via sending supplies to soldiers.
As well as our own programs each year Delta Rho Omega celebrates the service of others and makes special awards to others through our foundation, The Ivy Rose Foundation, Inc. There presentations take place annually during our Ivy Rose Ceremony. This year our Ivy Rose awards ceremony will be incorporated with the chapter’s 65th anniversary.
Join us on November 18th, with a special guest speaker Soror Sophia A. Nelson from the Marvelous Mid-Atlantic Region, Psi Rho Omega Chapter, as we celebrate 65 years of stellar service and see who this year’s community stars will be.
