(New York, NY). — Renowned MSNBC personality, Daily Beast Newsweek & Huffington Post writer, award
winning author and corporate speaker Sophia A. Nelson, Esquire announced today through her publisher
Benbella books that she will be taking the national Ready.Set.Redefine.2013. Tour to Denver, Colorado.
Nelson will be a guest of Comcast, Corporation for a private speaking & leadership training engagement
that she has dubbed “Life Class Redefined” with executives and directors in the Western region.
This will be Nelson’s first time in the Denver region. She will also be signing books at several local venues
to be announced later this week. Nelson’s first book, “Black Woman Redefined: Dispelling Myths &
Discovering Fulfillment in the Age of Michelle Obama,” was released in Trade Paperback in November
2012. The book was awarded the Best-Non Fiction award for African American Literature in 2011 in its
hardcover release. Nelson has won many awards and accolades for her work in the diversity and inclusion
space. Most recently she was named a 2012 Diversity Champion. A very prestigious award in the corporate
Fortune 500 community.
Nelson kicked off the official Ready.Set.Redefine.2013. Tour this past February at Alabama A&M
University, Comcast/NBCUniversal worldwide headquarters in Philadelphia, and Credit Suisse on Wall
Street in New York. She has been on recent stops in San Francisco, Houston, New Orleans, Augusta, and
Nashville. She has drawn crowds over 3000 at her speaking events and for her workshop/Life Classes
which are capped at 300 people.
Nelson was featured with powerhouses like Kathy Ireland, Jasmine Guy, and others at the “Your Dream
Is Out There” Conference on April 17th in Augusta, Georgia. Nelson is on a national tour of colleges,
corporations, cities, and communities to help women leaders and professionals of a new generation learn
how both to “define” and “redefine” their lives in the modern workforce. Nelson is considered a leading
corporate coach and thought leader on all things work place diversity, corporate coaching, pay equity, and
personal development and leadership skills. This final quarter of 2013 will end Nelson’s two year 30 city
tour of the United States, teaching women how to “Redefine” their lives.
Nelson’s 2nd book, “The Woman Code” will be due out late Fall 2014 or early 2015.
